Local Commuters
There is always a lot to do around Richmond, and GRTC can take you there! Whether you’re dining out at your favorite restaurant, spending the day at a recreational park or museum, or taking an afternoon to shop at the mall, GRTC’s local routes will get you there and back.
GRTC local bus service operates in many areas from 5:00am to 1:00am daily, seven days a week, and offers convenient stops close to many of Richmond’s popular destinations, plus everywhere in-between!
GRTC is proud to have one of the newest fleets in the transit industry, with the average age being less than six years. We use this benefit to our advantage, redesigning and upgrading our fixed-route buses to consistently advance accessibility for our passengers. The entire GRTC fleet is equipped with wheelchair lifts and bus operators can provide help to elderly and disabled customers who need extra assistance on our fixed-route services. GRTC currently operates thirty-one low-floor buses throughout the metropolitan region. These ultra low-floor “kneeling” buses are designed to accommodate senior and disabled persons riding our fixed routes.
Wherever you are and whatever your need, GRTC Local Routes are helping you to get carried away!
