With the constant addition of new services and improvements, GRTC provides commuters, students, shoppers – just about everyone – convenient, safe, and reliable transportation services that reduce road congestion and air pollution.

So, what transportation service is best for you?

• Local Commuters will benefit from using GRTC’s Local fixed-route service, which operates in most areas from 5:00am to 1:00am daily, seven days a week, and offers convenient stops close to many of Richmond’s popular destinations, plus everywhere in-between!
• Express Riders will benefit from using GRTC’s Express Route service, which operates on weekdays to transport commuters to and from work in Downtown Richmond quickly and conveniently. These services operate from Downtown Richmond to Henrico County. Chesterfield County, Mechanicsville, and Petersburg.  
• The Emergency Ride Home Program, offered through GRTC’s RideFinders Division, helps customers who have to unexpectedly work late, have an emergency, or become ill, by making sure they can get home when they need it most.
• Active Seniors want to continue to stay active in the Richmond region! GRTC Transit System offers all individuals 65 years of age or older the unique opportunity to receive a reduced bus fare as part of GRTC Transit System’s Reduced Fare Program.
• The Community Assisted Ride Enterprise (CARE) van service provides access to public transportation for those members of the community who may need more specialized assistance when commuting.
• C-VAN provides transportation assistance for Virginia Initiative for Employment not Welfare (VIEW) participants.
