GRTC Service Adjustments
Because of ongoing COVID-19 impacts to labor, GRTC will adjust schedules in December 2021.
GRTC continues to adjust services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of ongoing labor shortages, GRTC will modify schedules on December 19, 2021. After analyzing current pandemic ridership patterns, GRTC modified less heavily used bus routes to no less than one bus scheduled per hour or reduced frequencies off-peak. Express Routes will continue pandemic reduced services updated in September 2021.
GRTC customers impacted by late night service shifts will be able to get one ride per day from one GRTC bus stop to another GRTC bus stop through on-demand service Monday-Friday, 5AM-6AM and 11PM-2AM. GRTC is working with multiple partners to provide this service under zero fare operations and will provide more information in December. Riders should watch for additional announcements on how to use this temporary, pilot service.
The following routes will have schedule adjustments:
GRTC Pulse – operates every 15 minutes from 6AM – 11:30PM, and every 30 minutes from 11:30PM – 1AM. (As new Operators arrive in Winter, additional Pulse buses will enter service unscheduled, resulting in more frequent buses).
1A – ends evening service at Midnight instead of 1AM.
4A – begins service at 6AM instead of 5AM. Operates hourly throughout the service day.
4B – operates hourly throughout the service day.
5 – operates every 30 minutes throughout the service day (5AM-1AM). (As new Operators arrive in Winter, additional Route 5 buses will enter service unscheduled, resulting in more frequent buses).

77 – operates hourly instead of every 40 minutes. Begins service at 6AM instead of 5AM.

88 – operates every 30 minutes (5AM-9AM), hourly (2PM-4PM), and every 30 minutes (4PM-7PM) and one trip at 10:30PM.
Express Routes continue the schedules implemented in September 2021.
GRTC continues rear door boarding for most passengers to protect Operators at the front. Front door boarding remains open for passengers needing assistance, the ramp, or ADA seating at the front. The Federal Mask Order remains in effect through January 18, 2022 which means all passengers must continue to properly wear face masks throughout their trip with GRTC, regardless of vaccination status. Passengers with symptoms of illness are asked not to ride. Customers are still not permitted to have an extended ride (a ride that is more than one round trip); passengers must exit the bus when reaching the stop where they originally boarded.
GRTC remains Zero Fare on bus and CARE services (excludes CARE On-Demand) at least through June 30, 2022. Daily disinfecting of the entire fleet continues, and on-board hand sanitizer stations are available. The GRTC Administrative Office and the RideFinders Downtown Office remain closed to the public, and Lost & Found is available by appointment only.
