Powhatan LINK Launch

Richmond –  On Monday, May 6, GRTC and representatives from the Virginia Department of Rail & Public Transportation will join Powhatan County Chairman Steve McClung and others to celebrate the arrival of LINK Microtransit in the county.

The formal inauguration of the Powhatan Microtransit Zone is the fourth location with access to GRTC’s on-demand ride-hailing option. It is the first foray of public transit into Powhatan County, which joins Hanover and Goochland as new members of the GRTC service area.

Powhatan’s zone connects much of the county, and includes a pocket extension to Westchester Commons and the Bon Secours Medical Park, expanding mobility options for Powhatan residents and improving access to healthcare, shopping, jobs, and more.

Monday’s festivities will include brief remarks, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and a meet the bus event – and will be held at 11:00 AM at the Powhatan Village Park. (3825 Marion Harland Ln, Powhatan VA 23139).
