October Service Changes
October 02, 2024
GRTC News
On Sunday, October 20, GRTC will improve service for five routes and two microtransit service areas. These changes include:
Fixed Route Changes
Major extension of GRTC Route 1 to serve Virginia Center Commons
This extension will provide service every 30 minutes (60 minutes evenings and Sundays) from Downtown Richmond to Virginia Center Commons via Reynolds Community College. Northbound Reynolds trips will now continue all the way to VCC. Azalea service remains every 15 minutes.
We’ll also be hosting a ribbon cutting to celebrate the Route 1 extension on Monday, October 21, at 3:00 pm at Virginia Center Commons. This event is open to the public – RSVP here.
High-Frequency service to Church Hill & Richmond International Airport
Routes 7A & 7B will improve to every 30 minutes each, providing high-frequency corridor service from Downtown to Nine Mile & Laburnum and to Richmond International Airport. Trips have been timed to leave every 15 minutes in both directions, providing the same great service heading to and from the airport.
Midlothian/Hull St evening service increase
Route 1A will improve to 30-minute service evenings Monday-Saturday, improving service reliability along the Midlothian Corridor.
Other Changes:
One daily WB trip added to Route 91 Laburnum Connector (leaving Gay and Millers lane at 5:55 am)
Schedule tweaks to 1A/B/C and 2A/B/C to improve DTS performance. These changes will not impact route or service frequency.
Microtransit Service Changes
