Transit agencies periodically survey their passengers to understand characteristics of the riders and their trips. This information can help with service planning by helping to determine if route or schedule modifications could provide a better fit with traveler origins and destinations. Demographic data collected by a survey helps to establish if the agency complies with Title VI (environmental justice) guidelines. By measuring rider satisfaction about various service attributes, a survey can also highlight areas for agency improvements. In Fall 2019 GRTC gathered information for all of these purposes from its passengers on its fixed route services.
