Please visit our website for the most recent COVID-19 information.

Christmas & New Year’s Holiday Schedules: GRTC operates a Holiday schedule on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Please review the posted Holiday schedules here to see how your route is affected. GRTC remains Zero Fare (all routes are free to ride). GRTC’s Customer Service Call Center is CLOSED on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. We wish you a safe and happy holiday!

Ongoing Service Alert: GRTC may experience service delays at times during the pandemic as we follow COVID-safety protocols for contact tracing, quarantine, and testing. We thank you for your patience as we put the well-being of our workforce and of you our customers first. Please call Customer Service 804-358-4782 to check the status of your bus.

When you do ride with us, wear your mask correctly over both your nose and mouth, and do not remove or loosen your mask on-board. Limit conversations when riding, including on the phone. Please use the on-board hand sanitizer by the rear door. Do not ride if you have any symptoms of illness!

Service Updates Coming January 31, 2021: Minor service updates take effect on Sunday, January 31, and new public timetables will be available online after New Year’s.
Preview Changes:

  • Continued temporary discontinuation of Routes 39, 28X, and 102X.
  • Continued temporary decreased frequency on Route 78 during AM peak to every 60 minutes.
  • Continued COVID-reduced schedules on Express Routes, including still using vans on Routes 23X, 26X and 27X.
  • Routes 4A and 4B continue to operate every 30 minutes during AM/PM peaks on weekdays and every 60 minutes off-peak. Decrease weekend frequency to every 60 minutes all day.
  • Routes 50, 76 and 77 slightly decrease frequency to every 40 minutes every day.

These changes ensure coverage and access in all areas during the pandemic, while planning for the continued pandemic reality of available manpower. These modifications should improve reliability of service for our customers.
