Holiday Service Reminder: On Labor Day, Monday, September 7, GRTC operates a SUNDAY schedule. GRTC’s & First Transit’s Administrative Offices are closed Monday. GRTC’s Customer Service Call Center is open 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM at 804-358-4782.
Service Updates September 13: Our next service updates take effect September 13, and you can preview changes and new timetables now. Reduced service continues on most express routes, but local route updates improve Sunday service, reliability, and destination connectivity. Going to St. Mary’s Hospital? Now you take either Patterson Route 76 or 79. Some of these service updates came directly from rider feedback, such as the adjustment on Northside of the 2B onto Hazelhurst and Ladies Mile Road to better-serve the neighborhood, the eastward extension of Route 50 on Broad St., and the return of Grove Ave. service on Route 77 between the University of Richmond and VCU’s Monroe Park campus. When you provide input on how we can improve service for you, we listen! Please do not hesitate to connect with us if you have route suggestions.
New Bus Shelter: We continue to improve at-stop amenities for customers this year. Next week we are installing a new bus shelter (same design as the shelters at Broad & 4th) at Marshall & 3rd. Stop #1673 is being temporarily relocated across the street to the SE corner of Marshall/3rd while installation occurs. Upon completion, Stop #1673 returns to its permanent location on the SW corner of Marshall/3rd. Routes 78 Westbound, 87 Southbound, and 12 Westbound are using eastbound Marshall St. to still serve #1673 during work, which should take a couple days.
We Are Hiring Bus Operators: Put your career in drive! GRTC is now hiring bus operators. GRTC offers a strong benefits package, including competitive pay, a generous pension contribution, and overtime pay opportunities. Personal Protective Equipment during the pandemic is provided to keep you safe and well. Help us get RVA back to work! Apply now at ridegrtc.com.
You are welcome to connect with GRTC if you have questions.
GRTC’s office is closed to the public, and Lost and Found is by appointment only.
