Three GRTC COVID-19 Cases Detected at On-site Testing Event

RICHMOND, Va. (January 19, 2021) – GRTC detected three new COVID-19 cases among its workforce at its latest on-site testing event for staff held January 14. Case #55 is the 51st GRTC employee to test positive and was last at GRTC on January 14. The employee has no public-facing duties and is quarantined at home. Case #56 is the 5th GRTC contractor to test positive and was last at GRTC on January 14. The employee has public-facing duties and is quarantined at home. Case #57 is the 52nd GRTC employee to test positive and was last at GRTC on January 18. The employee has public-facing duties and is quarantined at home. These cases are unconnected to each other.

As positive cases are identified, GRTC proactively notifies, quarantines, and tests for any possible contact. This process is in accordance with guidance provided by the Virginia Department of Health. The full list of confirmed staff and contractor cases is available online. There are currently 10 active cases.
