One New GRTC COVID-19 Case Detected Today
Currently six active COVID-19 cases among the workforce.

RICHMOND, Va. (December 5, 2020) – GRTC reports one new COVID-19 case among its workforce. Case #31 is the 28th GRTC employee to test positive and was last at GRTC on November 28. The employee has public-facing duties and is being treated at a local hospital for complications from the virus.

There are six people currently on leave with COVID-19, five of whom are recovering at home. Case #26 was treated at a local hospital for complications from COVID-19, and is now in recovery at home. Contact tracing is underway for Case #31, but the previous five were suspected to have been contracted off-duty from other family members or non-work community activities. As positive cases are identified, GRTC proactively notifies, quarantines, and tests for any possible contact. This process is in accordance with guidance provided by the Virginia Department of Health. The full list of confirmed staff and contractor cases is available online

GRTC continues to host periodic on-site, free COVID-19 testing events for staff, including the next event on December 10th. For the most complete and latest GRTC updates during this pandemic, please visit our website.
